Effective 26 September 2026
BatchMacro is built to keep your information on your device. It has no account, no server of its own, and collects nothing about you.
Your recipes, in-progress batches, container tares, and settings are stored only on your device, in the app's own local database and keychain. They are never uploaded, and there is nowhere for us to receive them — the app has no backend.
The one-time unlock is handled by Apple through the App Store. BatchMacro is told only whether the unlock is owned. It never sees your name, your Apple ID, or any payment details.
When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) to look up that product's nutrition. Nothing else is sent with it. As with any web request, their servers can see your device's IP address. This is the only time BatchMacro uses the network, and scanning is optional — you can always type the numbers instead. Nutrition data comes from Open Food Facts under the ODbL licence.
The camera is used only to read a barcode in the moment you scan. No photos are taken, stored, or sent anywhere.
There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDK collecting your data. Nothing you do in the app is profiled or shared.
You can export your library to a file at any time, free, and that file is yours to keep wherever you put it. Deleting the app removes your saved library from your device. One small marker recording when your trial began is kept in the device keychain so the trial cannot be reset by reinstalling; it holds no personal information and never leaves the device.
BatchMacro collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
